But, I do have some pants that I love, maybe capri (I know that capris make your legs look stumpy, but honestly there is no help for me so it doesn't matter) is not the right description, but I love the length, and I wanted to duplicate that length in a pair of jeans. So I have been searching, and searching, and I have continued to come up empty. So as any good crafty girl would do when found in the situation, I decided to make a pair.
After going through my closet I realized that I could not bear to experiment on any of my beloved Tommy jeans. So off to the consignment store where I found these cute little things for $4.00. Deal!!
I set to work. Let's get a couple of things clear. I have not figured out how to use my sewing machine yet, and therefore, I have to hand sew everything and I'm slow and not super great at it.
Yep, I lied the pants I like over the ones I was making, don't judge me. From the bottom of the khaki's I added 3 inches (the length of the cuffs), and marked both with pins, and cut off the excess.
Then I pinned (and made sure it was even) so I could sew the cuff. I had to sew all the way across on both the front and the back (thank goodness I had the race to keep me entertained)
Next, I pinned to make the final hem, this time I only had to stitch up the sides.
So I think that they turned out pretty good. They don't look too bad, they will do.
