What to have for Dinner on New Year's Eve

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Now it's time to get ready for New Year's Eve.

Gone are the days when we would go out and party it up all night, now we are happy to just be awake to watch the ball drop.

A couple of years ago, we decided that we would start the tradition of making of a big fancy dinner at home, and every year, it's gotten alittle bigger.  The first year we did Prime Rib,  it was much easier to do than I thought that it would be.  Last year we did Surf and Turf, which consisted of steaks on the grill and lobster tails, which I did in the oven and they turn out great.

This year, we are going to go alittle simpler but we are still pretty excited about.  We are taking one of our summer recipes and keeping our fingers crossed that the weather isn't terrible and we can grill out.  So here is my 'recipe' for a successful stay at home NYE.

1.  Make great food.

This is what we are having this year.

Just some steaks, and twice baked potatoes.  We like to call this "Steak 2 Ways" - because of the grilled mushrooms and onions, and sour cream horseradish sauce.

2.  Set the Table.   Go all out.  Tablecloth, candles, and the fancy wine glasses.

3.  Do the dishes next year.

4.  Find a good movie.  I'm not sure what we are going with this year, but I'm looking (and taking suggestions)

5.  Kiss at midnight and go to bed, there are Bowl Games to watch on New Year's Day!

Enjoy
